Janay Sanchez
Board Member
Janay E. Sanchez-McLemore is a proud Pueblo native and proud graduate of CSU-Pueblo. She holds a
degree in Human Resource Management with emphasis in leadership and management. She holds a
deep love for her community and prides herself with working with nonprofit sectors as well as serving
underserved populations. Janay has worked for the Pueblo City County Library District, Department of
Corrections, and National Immigration Services.
Growing up Janay was influenced by her parents to volunteer, giveback, and be a vital part of her
community. Janay has volunteered with Partners in Education, MYLIFE, State Readers and Advisories
Boards, Pueblo Police Department, Young Life, YWCA, and other community organizations.
Janay currently is the founder of The Lioness Project which is a local women-based organization in
Pueblo, CO; where they aim to education, empower, and encourage the next generation of women
leaders.
