
Jeanette Garcia
Executive Director
As a K-12 educator, Mrs. Garcia has a wealth of experience ranging from a business education teacher to a dropout prevention coordinator. Mrs. Garcia was an elementary school principal for 13 years and most recently as a Director of Career Services for a technical trade school. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Southern Colorado (CSU-P), her Master’s Degree in Education from Lesley College and her administrative coursework from the University of Denver. She is co-founder of
Partners in Education and has served on the Board of Directors for the Pueblo Hispanic Education Foundation and Packard Foundation Grant Committee. She is currently in her second term as a Colorado Commissioner for Higher Education, appointed by Governor Hickenlooper in 2011. Mrs. Garcia is currently on the Latino Advisory Committee for El Pomar’s ELD Program, Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Pueblo County and the Pueblo Community College’s Advisory Council. “Education is the key to a higher quality of life and must be accessible to all. Supporting others in this endeavor is her passion.”
