Stefan Garcia

President

Stefan Garcia is President of the Garcia Foundation. He helps develop foundation initiatives and shape the organization’s overall mission.
He was born in Pueblo, Colorado. He graduated from Pueblo South High School in 2009. He attended the University of Colorado at Boulder and received a bachelor of arts in integrative physiology in 2012. In 2017, he received his medical degree from the University of Michigan. He is currently training to become an orthopaedic surgeon at Michigan Medicine.
Stefan developed his passion to help underserved populations while in medical school. He helped develop a mentorship program, Doctors of Tomorrow, focused on increasing minorities in medicine. Through various other organizations, he helped raise money for children’s clubs, volunteered to deliver free healthcare at various clinics, and helped organize health fairs at local schools.
He believes that he grew up in an environment that allowed him to pursue his dreams and wants to give back to the community that raised him.
